What is the Senior Class Gift?

This enduring tradition invites seniors to give back to Hofstra in support of undergraduate education. Senior Class Gift recognizes and celebrates the achievements of Hofstra seniors, encourages and teaches students to give back to their alma mater and increases the value of their Hofstra degree. This is not just a senior event—it’s a commitment that begins a lifetime of involvement with Hofstra, and is the first step in the transition from student to alumnus/a.

Why should I give?

Making a gift will help the Class of 2021 leave its legacy for years to come. This year's Senior Class Gift will go towards creating a Family Garden on the South campus, within the Arboretum, with a plaque dedicated to “Hofstra parents and families, past, present, and future” thanking the Class of 2021. The location is between the Adams Playhouse and the Calkins Hall, next to a busy pathway that leads to the Roosevelt Quad, the Lawrence Herbert School of Communication, and Hofstra Law School. The funds will be donated to the Hofstra Arboretum endowment that helps with the costs of the upkeep. The dedication of the garden will be on Saturday, May 1, 2021 (virtually or on campus, depending on the public health situation).

What do I give?

Graduating seniors are asked to make a gift of $20.21 or more in honor of the senior class. As a special thank you, any student who gives $20.21 or more will receive a commemorative philanthropy cord to be worn at commencement.
